Great Britain will head to Germany with a host of medal chances – Christine Ohuruogu will be looking to retain the 400m title she won in Osaka, while triple jumper Phillips Idowu and hurdler Natasha Danvers will seek to upgrade their respective Olympic silver and bronze.
Paula Radcliffe hopes to be fit to bid to regain the marathon title she won in 2005 while Goldie Sayers, who finished fourth in the javelin final in Beijing, will be looking for a first major podium place.
In addition, fit again Jess Ennis and Kelly Sotherton complete a strong heptathlon team while Britain will have high hopes in all relay events.
All Sportsbeat coverage will be branded with an Aviva/UKA composite logo and a boilerplate to reflect their multi-million pound sponsorship of Britain’s major Olympic sport.
Sportsbeat reporters will not only be in Berlin but will also attend the pre-championship training camp in Portugal.
“We’re delighted to continue our association with Aviva,” said Managing Editor James Toney.
"Interest in athletics from the editors we serve remains as high as ever, despite some disappointing results in Beijing.”
